“A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH”
Nestled amongst gum trees and native bushland this robust country cottage, became a diamond in the rough for its new owners who saw instant potential behind its blue stone walls and austere facade. Whilst its architectural structure speaks proudly of its Victorian heritage, the intent for this family home was to invite softness and form through materials, and texture.
Charged with the complete regeneration of the Internal and external structures- Huntress and Hound were engaged to restore its crumbing facade as well as improve on the existing floor plan.
Over the course of 8 months, huntress and hound worked closely with the clients, artisans, and trades to provide custom furniture, kitchen cabinetry design, furniture and styling to address the new floor plan and the extension of external pavilions and outdoor entertaining zones.
Natural materials play an integral role in softening the rigidity of the building whilst honed limestone floors and polished plaster envelope spaces to provide softness and form.
