Half Day Morning Itinerary

Stage 1: It all starts at 6:00am…

Painfully early I know. However! for the large majority of homes and projects, this angular early morning light is the most conducive for compelling and powerful imagery.

6:00am - 7:30am - the images at this time, are typically wide angle exterior shots that show the relationship of the entertaining spaces, yard, façade and how they connect to the interior. Bedrooms and bathrooms at this stage won’t be touched or approached at all yet - so occupants can mostly go about their morning undisturbed.

However, because of the breadth of these shots, it’s a good idea to have the staging and styling finalized the evening before - ready for when I arrive to shoot these spaces.

Here are some examples of those first images taken at this time:

The smaller finer details and staging are not the priority here - and instead the focus is on the larger brush strokes. Staging and styling at this stage is still somewhat important, however the very pedantic finessing of the small details will occur later in the day.

Stage 2: approx. 9:00am onwards

At this point, the external images begin to become a bit flatter and less compelling.

So from approximately 9:00am-12:00pm the focus switches heavily to the interior images.

This is when the OCD kicks into gear, and we become much more pedantic about the styling, placement and details in each and every shot.

Once the interior of the project is fully saturated and comprehensively documented - that should finally be a wrap!
